Welcome to the Agricultural Economics Society of Ireland (AESI), homepage. The Agricultural Economics Society of Ireland was founded early in the 1960s. The aim of the Society is to promote the study and understanding of economics and sociology in relation to agriculture and the rural community.

AESI Annual Conference 2012
Dublin, October 18th 2012 - Programme

The AESI 2012 conference took place in Dublin on October 18th 2012.  It included a keynote address as well as contributed papers on themes such as agriculture, the environment, rural development, food marketing, land use and development economics.

The Book of Abstracts from the Conference is now available to download.

Plenary papers presented by Vincent Chatellier and Brendan Riordan are also available to download, as are a selection of powerpoints relating to contributed papers.  

 

AESI Early Career Researcher Seminar

Dublin, October 19th 2012

The ECRS seminar took place in UCD and included presentations in the subject areas of agriculture, the environment, rural development, food marketing, supply chain management, land use, development economics and rural sociology. The Book of Abstracts from the ECRS seminar is now available to download. 

 

AESI Annual General Meeting 2012

The AGM of the Society took place in Dublin on June 21st 2012.  Incoming president Ann Derwin delivered the Presidential Address entitled "Agriculture - an Optimist's Perspective".

 

123rd European Association of Ag. Economists (EAAE) Seminar, Dublin, February 23rd- 24th 2012

In Association with Teagasc, the AESI organised the 123rd EAAE Seminar in Dublin in February 2012. The seminar attracted 90 international participants. <More....
